A classic, French dining experience reminiscent of 1920’s Paris, Margeaux Brasserie is James Beard Award-winning Chef Michael Mina’s moveable feast. Located on the third floor of The Waldorf Astoria Chicago, Margeaux Brasserie is sure to become a destination for lively drinks, convivial dining, and a bacchanalia brunch.
Chef Michael Mina’s love note to Paris, Margeaux Brasserie will celebrate French cuisine with an elevated menu highlighting bold, craveable flavors, locally sourced ingredients and classic technique.
Signature dishes include starters Frog Legs a la Trois Gros and Escargot Bordelaise, as well as entrees like Steak Frites, Dover Sole Meuniere and Porclette “Cassoulet”.
The beverage program will pay tribute to the café culture of Paris through an impressive wine and spirits collection, as well as a dynamic cocktail program that utilizes fresh ingredients with a section devoted to classically French cocktails.
The wine list will focus on French & US wines, while a roving champagne cart will offer rotating selections on a nightly basis. Highlighting both local and regional brews on tap, as well as in bottles and cans, Margeaux Brasserie will also offer imported beer from France. Rounding out the beverage program, a spirits collection will boast impressive collections of Cognac and Pineau des Charentes, a regional French aperitif.
Michael Mina’s story is one of two decades of influence, passion and achievement. With the October 2010 opening of MICHAEL MINA, his eponymous signature restaurant in San Francisco, Michael is at the helm at the same location (formerly AQUA) and city where he first established his culinary reputation 20 years ago.
With accolades including James Beard Foundation “Who’s Who of Food & Beverage” inductee in 2013, Bon Appétit Chef of the Year 2005, San Francisco Magazine Chef of the Year 2005, as well as the International Food and Beverage Forum’s Restaurateur of the Year 2005, Michael continues to dazzle the culinary world with bold dining concepts that have contributed to San Francisco’s reputation as a world-class epicurean destination and made him an integral part of the dining scene across the country.
